Dearest Believer,
Happy New Year! And with every new year, we are filled with hope for a year better than the last. As we enter, many of us like to start with fresh new resolutions. I will do this, I will do that. I will be better at this or that, begin doing X, Y, and Z. Well, as I was rummaging through a decades-old, falling apart Bible of mine, I found something I had scribbled on a piece of paper. It reminded me that resolutions are not just of what we will do, but also of things we will not do. On this old piece of paper, I found a list of “nevermores”. I am not even sure where I found these or even if I wrote these down from my own studies. In either case, I would love to share these with you and pray they will remind you, as they have reminded me, of nevermores now that we are in Christ.
Nevermore will I say “I can’t”, because ….
“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Phil. 4:13
Nevermore will I confess poverty, because….
“My God will meet all [my] needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19
Nevermore will I confess insecurity,
“For the Lord will be my confidence and will keep my foot from being snared.” Prov. 3:26
Nevermore will I confess doubt and lack of faith, because….
“God has given in accordance with the measure of faith.” Rom.12:3
Nevermore will I confess weakness, for….
“The Lord is the stronghold of my life.” Ps. 27:1
Nevermore will I confess defeat, because….
“When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will put Him to flight.” Is.59:19
Nevermore will I confess lack of understanding, because….
“It is because of Him that I am in Christ Jesus, who has become for me wisdom from God.” 1 Cor. 1:30
Nevermore will I confess infirmity, for….
“By His wounds I am healed” and Jesus, “took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.” Is. 53:5, Matt. 8:17
Nevermore will I confess burdens and frustrations because….
I will, “cast all my anxiety on Him for He cares for me.” 1 Pet. 5:7
Nevermore will I confess slavery, because,
“The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Cor. 3:17
May you be blessed by these reminders, dear believer, in this year to come ?
The Lord be with you,
Bianca
