Let There Be Light!

“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.’

Genesis 1:3-4

Dearest Believer,

When God, ‘in the beginning’, created something out of nothing~ while without form, empty and void, chaotic and dark, it is like one before Christ. We were in darkness, void of light, disordered, and without true purpose. But when God in His mercy, calls us out of darkness and into the Light of Jesus Christ, He regenerates (reforms, renews, brings us into existence again) us.

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

 2 Corinthians 4:6
Jesus is “life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”

John 1:4-5.

Light, is the “agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible”.  (Oxford Languages Dictionary)

Isn’t this what Christ does for us? He has given our blind eyes sight. His light has opened our eyes to see the truth. We cannot walk down the path of life in the same way again. We cannot have relationships in the same way again. We cannot wake up each day without seeing all things through the eyes of light. Those scales have fallen, Believer, and we can now see clearly so many things that were once veiled. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

When we have the Light of Life in Christ, what was lost in Eden is being restored. We are reconciled to the right relationship with God, creation, and with others, drinking from the Living Water and eating from the Bread of Life. How good God is to give the gift that humanity lost in the Fall, yet regained in Jesus. Thank the Lord, dear Believer, for this amazing plan of redemption. Let our hearts be grateful that His Spirit has enlightened the eyes of our heart and made known to us His truth. May we forever praise, honor, and worship our Creator for His mighty work.

The Lord be with you,

Bianca
